Luxury hotel description
There are 15 words in the Fijian language meaning Heaven and ‚Yasawa‘ is the first. Yasawa Island Resort and Spa is an exclusive all-inclusive resort on one of the most remote and unspoiled islands of Fiji. Just 18 luxury bungalows are hidden among the palms, each just a few steps from a pristine white beach. Swim in crystal clear waters, explore any of our 10 private beaches, dive on vividly colored corals, connect with an ancient culture or indulge in Fiji‘s first beachfront spa. Whatever you choose to do at Yasawa, you‘ll do it in complete seclusion.
Our 18 traditionally thatched, beachfront bures are understated in their luxury. Nestled among the palms, each air-conditioned bure has a discreet outdoor shower; an expansive deck with daybeds to wile away the afternoons; a separate living area with mini bar and iPod docking station; a hammock strung between the palms; incredible views of the ocean, and your own thatched cabana with sun loungers on the edge of Yasawa‘s famous white sand beach.

Bure – it`s Fijian for sanctuary. Yasawa is home to just 18 luxurious bures, each one just a few steps from the beach with a view of the ocean. Each air-conditioned bure is superbly fitted in contemporary Fijian style, with a thatched roof, plantation shutters, an expansive sun deck, an outdoor shower, a personal hammock and a private beach hut on the edge of the sands.
At Yasawa there`s no such thing as a standard room. We start with six Bure Suites that set a luxurious benchmark with their modern styling, open plan and ocean views. Scattered in pairs among the palms, they share just one adjoining wall and are positioned for privacy – the only thing you`ll see from inside is the beach. Each bure at Yasawa has a cool, open plan and luxury features throughout, from pillow top king beds with Frette bed covers to Bose Wave music systems. The modern bathroom has a shower for two with a view of the ocean, while the expansive living area has plantation shutters and French doors to the sundeck outside.
The outdoor shower is a signature feature in every bure at Yasawa, set in a weathered branch of driftwood in a discreet corner of the sundeck. Refresh in the open air under hot and cold water, enjoying a view of the ocean by day and the southern stars by night. At Yasawa the outdoors is an extension of your living space, fanned by tropical breezes and never more than a few steps from the ocean. Each bure has its own sundeck with a pair of lounges, a private beach hut on the sands and a hammock strung between the palms. Each bure is provided with a fully stocked mini bar, tea and coffee making facility, jars of fresh cookies, an electronic safe, ironing facility, hair dryer and IDD telephone.
On an island as remote as this you can have all the space you want. Yasawa`s 10 Deluxe Bures are vast and free-standing, offering ocean panoramas from inside and out. A split-level design creates separate living and sleeping areas inside, while broad decks and shaded day-beds extend the living space outside.
Perched on a rise overlooking the rest of the resort is a huge Family Bure with two separate bedrooms either side of a central living area. Its elevated outdoor deck provides magnificent views over the island and out to sea, and its name, Drodrolagi, is Fijian for rainbow.
The name says it all - Lomalagi, the Fijian word for heaven. Hidden from the rest of the resort at the end of a deserted white beach, the Honeymoon Bure Lomalagi is a private retreat with its own horizon pool overlooking the ocean. This is Yasawa at its best – absolute luxury and complete seclusion.
Baravi Spa treatments and techniques have been sourced from around the world and adapted to local Fijian products and symbolism. Hot rock therapies use black volcanic pebbles to reflect the fiery rift that created Yasawa Island. Linger a while and relax to the sound of the ocean. Laze in a soothing hot spa pool just a pebble`s throw from the water`s edge, or refresh in a cool plunge pool outside in the sun. A visit to the Baravi Spa isn`t complete until you`ve forgotten the outside world.
Take your vows on the sands of a deserted beach, before a tropical sunset or under the southern stars. You needn`t decide until you get there. Invite the choir from nearby Bukama village, choose traditional decorations and tropical flowers or summon a guard of Fijian warriors. A wedding at Yasawa is yours to command – make it as elaborate or as simple as you like.
Solitude. It`s our favorite pastime at Yasawa. So whatever you choose to do during your stay, you`ll be free to enjoy it in peace. Take a complimentary picnic on a deserted beach. Visit nearby villages to meet the local children or hear the church choir. Swim in the crystal waters of the famous Blue Lagoon or snorkel among corals and tropical fish. Do as much or as little as you choose. All activities at Yasawa are included in the tariff (except spa treatments, scuba diving and sportsfishing).
Yasawa might be an island of isolation, but it`s also an island of plenty. All meals are included in the tariff at Yasawa, promising contemporary cuisine at every sitting and an emphasis on the succulent seafood caught daily in surrounding waters. Lobster plucked from the nearby reefs is a specialty. Dine at the restaurant, on the beach, in your bure or beneath the stars. The choice is yours. At Yasawa every meal can be extraordinary. Choose a location you`ll never forget – alone beneath the stars, on the beach beside the lapping waves, beside our horizon pool, among the palms in your private beach hut, or simply hidden away in the comfort of your own bure. A table for two can materialize almost anywhere at Yasawa, just name the place.
Yasawa Island Resort & Spa is all-inclusive and incredible value and includes all gourmet meals and snacks, non-alcoholic beverages and free wifi. On arrival, guests are greeted with handmade floral leis, cold scented towels and a fresh coconut ‘cocktail’. Our tariff also includes activities like private island picnics, excursions to the Blue Lagoon Caves, cultural village visits, guided snorkelling trips, cultural demonstrations; cooking classes, guided walks and Discover Scuba Diving pool sessions.
