Luxury hotel description
In 1876, Eduard Sacher founded the Hotel Sacher in Vienna. He was the son of the creator of the Original Sacher-Torte, a unique chocolate cake. Soon after its creation, the Sacher became a world famous meeting point for politicians, artists and the aristocracy. Since 1934, the hotel has been run by the Gürtler family, who is very intent on maintaining the hotel’s old tradition.
A simple glance from its windows confirms the hotel’s spectacular location. It is directly in the city centre, close to the pedestrian shopping area Kärntner Straße, opposite the Opera House and only a short walk away from St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Hofburg Imperial Palace and the elegant Ringstraße, a road which boasts an impressive array of Vienna’s major sites, such as the Burgtheater Imperial Court Theatre and the City Hall. The distinctiveness of the Sacher is our attention to the individual, possible thanks to its manageable size. Individuals are our guests, not the masses. We look forward very much to convincing you of this.
Our elaborate art collection and antiques shape the atmosphere of the hotel and allow our guests to experience the traditional Viennese lifestyle. The character of the Hotel Sacher Vienna is forged by elegant furniture, selected antiques, sumptuous materials, as well as our famous collection of paintings. Stylish materials lend each room its unique charm. At the Hotel Sacher Vienna, our guests have the opportunity to experience the genuine Viennese art de vivre.
